SportsGlitzPeople for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) Plead with Usher not to replace Stolen Fur CoatsMonday, January 18, 2010

Usher was on a Christmas shopping trip with a friend on the 14th December 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia when his SUV was broken into.
Along with the items that were stolen were fur coats that the singer had bought as gifts. PETA official, Michelle Cho has written to Usher pertaining to these fur coats, persuading him not to replace the coats and pleading with him to stop buying furs as gifts. She wrote, "When it comes to these coats, you're not the first victim. The animals who were beaten, electrocuted, or drowned for those coats - the original owners - are the real victims. Please pledge to be fur-free." She added that he would be in great company as Eva Mendes, Charlize Theron, Michelle Obama and Nia Long are other compassionate people who refuse to wear real fur. The SVU break in is not the only unlucky thing that has happened to Usher recently, Producer Jermaine Dupri is furious after a track he recorded with Usher leaked onto the internet. The “Yeah” hitmaker’s upcoming album, “Raymond vs. Raymond” surfaced online last month without the star’s consent, including “Fooling around”, a track produced by Dupri. The songs were scheduled for release in Europe in February and the United States in March but hit the web more than two months before the expected release date. I cannot help but wonder if this is not a repeat of what happened in 2008 when the producer of “Love In This Club”, featuring Young Jeezy intentionally leaked the song stating internal conflicts and record company procrastination as reasons for his decision. Careful not to cry wolf too many times Usher! The PETA organization might have a problem with that too.
