"I blame The Securities and Exchange Commission."

The more I think about it, the more I blame The SEC. And it really doesn't surprise me that some of my investors are suing the commission for negligence.I would do the same.

You got to remember this... when any investors were hesitant about investing me, I always showed them the prior SEC examinations to establish credibility and to allay their suspicions. The fact that The SEC didn't detect any fraud made me seem more credible and encouraged even more people to invest with me. So, anybody with any sense, can't just blame me. You have to blame The SEC as well.

What gets me is that The SEC was actually receiving anonymous reports that I was a major con artist and still they couldn't see the wood from the trees. One smart ass even told them that I had my lap-top with me 24/7. As if that proved anything!

Apparently, The SEC thought that it wasn't the appropriate agency to pursue a Ponzi because a Ponzi was essentially a criminal matter! Can you believe these guys?? They thought Ponzi had to be a job for The FBI! You've got to scratch your head and ask yourself what planet they're on.

They should have caught me years ago and, to be perfectly honest, I wish they had. Just because I had actually written a good portion of the trading rules doesn't mean that they shouldn't have uncovered The Ponzi . I suppose they got taken in by the fact that I had been working in the industry for years without putting a foot wrong. Ok, so they asked the right questions but they were all focussed on front-running.

And the joke is that one of the shmucks, thought that he was Colombo and actually waltzed into my offices wearing his "ENFORCEMENT" jacket. Now that's what I call a fucking chutzpah.

Not one of them thought that there was any possibility that I was running a Ponzi. A couple of times I thought that the jig was up but somehow they never checked properly.
The SEC examiners never looked at the big picture. They just focussed on the details. Basically the guys aren't up to the job. They don't really know what the fuck they're doing.

After all it's very easy to discover a Ponzi. All you have to do is do a third party check. It's a must. It's Accounting 101 to do a box count.

Of course the whole thing is a tragedy. It's a total nightmare. Not only did a lot of people lose a lot of money but I feel bad about having set my industry back. I wish I could forgive myself.

Well, if a deterministic philosophy of mind holds true and your just a pawn of you bio-psychological and neuro processes, then you can relax into the antipathy of scientific materialism, relieving you of any behavioral volition required to incur moral guilt.
